Our exchange student

This is our exchange student Mer, from Thailand. We hosted her for the 2007-2008 school year. She was a junior at Bellefontaine High School. She recently returned home (just to go right back into school again...their summer break is in Feb, March, April) and we really do miss her. She was so much fun to have around and we learned alot about having a teenage daughter! She adapted well to our culture and her English improved while she was here. All of this has been part of our journey to our daughter. One of the reasons we decided to host was to pass some of the time waiting for Kara. And time did pass very quickly! There were alot of firsts for Mer. Her first snowfall, her first time carrying wood (she was a big help!), tubing down Mad River Mountain, her first Prom...so many memories! We have been so blessed with having her as part of our family and we will cherish those memories always. Thanks Mer!

Mer was so much fun. I will never forget how she made us laugh so much. She is greatly missed by us too. In way it is great the time went by fast because it just means that those months didn't drag by waiting for KaraLin. On the other hand it just seems that like Mer wasn't here very long.

Thanks Judy for keeping us udated. It's a great help. Now you don't have to hear me how much longer of wait. I know it is hard waiting but KaraLin will be worth the wait.

Love you both,
Kim Hartzler

Mer was such a joy for us, I remember one of the first times
we saw her we went for a boat ride and she wore her coat and her flip-flops and drove the boat
under Tony's guidance.
How Grandma and I took her to Menard's while she was on Christmas break how she went around touching and feeling
everthing her mind was absorbing so much.
Mer would give me hugs and rub
my tummy like a Budda Belly
What a great joy she was and I'm
sure KaraLin will be also.

Love
